Ilkeston Outlaws
Based at the Cavendish Centre in Ilkeston, Derbyshire, and founded in 1994, Ilkeston Outlaws Basketball Club, has evolved to become one of the best, most prestigious and cohesive clubs in the East Midlands Area.
History
Once four teams; Cougars, Hawks, Falcons and Outlaws, we now operate as one – Ilkeston Outlaws.
Coaching is provided for both girls and boys from 8 – 18 and since 2007, at senior level.
We aim to encourage our players to develop the necessary skills to play at national level and to continue their basketball career through college and university, and onto senior level.
We continue to develop.
Leagues - Local
Male teams compete in the local Sherwood League, which covers Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, South Yorkshire and Staffordshire – providing plenty of opportunities and competition for players to develop their skills, while the females compete in the Maid Marian League.
Leagues – National
A number of our teams now play in the National League at various levels competing against teams that have played at this level for many years. The difference in level is obvious to both players and coaches but our determination to succeed and learn is remarkable.
Venues
Believe it or not, size matters to England Basketball and all venues are required to provide certain facilities.
Currently, we host our games at Bilborough College because of a lack of facilities at Ilkeston Cavendish Centre.
We would like our own venue in Ilkeston.

In return, we will continue to provide and maintain the level of training and coaching necessary for young people to advance to the highest level of play possible.
